Day 2---Finding Your Peace

Life as we know it has changed—-BIG time!!—at least for now. The way we live, work, socialize, communicate—everything has to be adjusted. So how do we adapt to this temporary way of living?

First of all, we have to find our peace. If we don’t have it, nothing around us will function properly. But how do we get peace and once we have a little, how do we keep it when our world seems to be spinning out of control?

The answer is hidden in plain sight. Look no further than Proverbs 16:3 in your Bible. It says—

Commit your works to the Lord,
And your thoughts will be established.
Proverbs 16:3 (NKJV)

The AMPC edition uses this phrase: “He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.” Yes, that’s what we want--established thoughts so we can get through each day successfully.

Our “works” are our plans. You might say, “Wait a minute! I do not have a plan!! This came out of nowhere and screwed up my plans!” Don’t worry. This promise will still work without a plan. Many times when I am at loose ends or confused I say, “I roll this day or this situation upon You. Cause me to think the way You think.” When you make this commitment to Him, you can expect to hear His thoughts—the ones you did not think by yourself.

If we haven’t found that place of peace in God the atmosphere around us continues to shake. But once we have found it, we are able to make decisions that will set a chaotic situation into its rightful place. You can be the only mother on the block not having a meltdown or the only team leader from the office that is pulling your meetings together online. God desires to set our thoughts into a peaceful order. He will help you simplify your life so you can get done what needs to be done. And at the end of the day, you will feel satisfied that everything moved forward in a successful way.

Once you have found this key to successful living, I promise you that you will want to continue it every day of your life. It’s time to get started and find your peace!

Weeding Out The Lie

If you have read my book, The 30-Second Prayer That Changes Everything , you already know that being intentional  is key to achieving successful results. You might begin each day with something like this-- Father, I commit this day to You. Cause me to think the way You think--so that I will be in Your will and make right choices today.                                                                         Yesterday, I had a troubling thought show up on my radar. I recognized it as a reoccurring thought. In fact, it had surfaced several times over the past few months and was on the verge of become a "held-belief."  I even spoke it out loud on a couple of occasions which gave this false imagination additional fuel. This belief definitely did not bring me peace, but instead irritation, impatience...

Here's The Plan

When I was preparing myself for these days ahead, I took a pen and paper and began to brainstorm of what I wanted to accomplish during this time. I came up with five areas that I will be focusing on.  I do want to say that we each have to design our strategy to fit our lives. For example, if you are a Health Care Worker who is putting in 10-12 hour days and then come home to meet the needs of your family, you are not going to be able to do what someone else has time to do. So please, design it for what fits for you .  If you only have time for one of these areas, do the first one—because it is THE most important one. It is foundational to make everything else in your day function. The five areas are as follows: 1. Spiritually—Begin the day with God in prayer. 2. Physically—Keep yourself strong by eating the right food and the right                time. Also, get exercise and drink plenty of water.    ...

Day 6---Narrowing Our Focus

The first week of the "30 Days" is now behind us..... Let’s review some key components that will move us forward with strength and purpose. We have our foundational promise from God’s Word: Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.                               Proverbs 16:3 (AMPC) We have our prayer: Of course, feel free to use your own words and spend as long as you desire in prayer. God wants a relationship with us and all close relationships require spending time together. In Proverbs 16:3, God is calling us into partnership with Him so He can lead us through the day successfully. If you need help with forming the prayer, you could use these words: “Father, as I commit this day to You, cause me to think Your thoughts.”   We have...
